Dia Mirza and Vaibhav Rekhi took the industry by surprise when they announced the birth of their son, Avyaan Azaad Rekhi in a deeply personal and emotional social media post in July. Dia had shared that her son was born on May 14 and was admitted in a Neonatal ICU (NICU). On Friday (September 17), the actress informed her fans that her little one is finally home and to start his life journey.

Dia shared an edited photo where she can be seen holding Avyaaan in her arms. While sharing the picture, she wrote, “Our story has only just begun Avyaan 15.09.2021 We are deeply grateful to many good people who took very good care of you Avyaan in the first 4 months of your life. Dr. Hari, Dr.Jui, Dr. Pradeep, Dr.Anish and all the nurses and @suryahospitals under the able leadership of Dr.Awasthi and Dr.Kabra We will be forever grateful for the care and love you received from all of them.”

She added, “Dr. Nozer and Rajneet our baby is finally home And this would not have been possible without your response and timely care. A lifetime of gratitude to you Avyaan, you have taught us humility, grace, and the power of prayer  Stay blessed baby. You complete us in every way.”

“All our family and friends this time would not have been half as comforting without your strength and prayers. Thank YOU all. You know who you are. Have to add, to all the parents out there who are coping with their premies being in NICU, love, strength and prayers for you and your little one’s,” Dia concluded in her post.

Reacting to her post, several celebrities showered her with love and blessings. Sonali Bendre took to the comments section and wrote, “Welcome home baby Avyaan, god bless you… lots of love Dee to you and your family,” while Priyanka Chopra commented, “God bless your beautiful family Dee.”

Manish Malhotra, Tahira Kashyap, Lara Bhupathi, Anita Hassanandani, Amrita Arora, Anita Dongre and Neha Dhupia among other dropped heart emojis in the comments section.

In her Instagram post in July, Dia had shared that she had an early delivery after suffering a “sudden appendectomy during my pregnancy and a subsequent and very severe bacterial infection could have led to sepsis and proven to be life threatening.” Avyaan was born via an emergency C-section and gained strength in the NICU.

For the unversed, Dia and Vaibhav tied the knot on February 16, earlier this year.
